Rose Road Runners participated in Standish Hall 10K Trail Race in very testing conditions. The terrain was a mixture of tracks, woodland paths and muddy fields. Times were noticeably slower than would have been achieved on a drier day.
Fred Lynch ran an excellent race leading Red Rose home and taking the Vet 55 prize with Joe Swarbrick a minute behind. Phil Butler’s cross country prowess brought him home in 46:08 in front of Barry Wheeler who just held off Cliff Utting.
Dave Earnshaw worked hard to beat 50 minutes and Debbie Kirkman once again challenged Stuart Cann being only 18 seconds behind and taking third place in her age category. Joan Goldthorpe and Carolyn Douglass both picked up Vet prizes.
