Red Rose runners turned out in good numbers at the recent Two Lads Fell race. John Shepherd was comfortably home first for the club but a great battle ensued between Phil Butler and Ken Addison with Addison just stealing it in the final few yards. Paul Woan continued his improving form with 42:54 and John Rogerson had a great run finishing in 43:15. Tony Thorley’s 44:32 was an excellent performance beating club mates Cliff Utting and Geoff Haworth.
Alison John-Haslam ran 46:58 to be first Red Rose lady, two minutes clear of Glenda Dobie. A good performances from Janine Needham signalled her return to running and Paula Plowman got the better of Debbie Kirkman finishing in 52:53.

In the Freckleton Half Marathon Mick Brennand ran a very steady race finishing in 1:38:59 whilst newcomers Janice Johnstone and Tom McNicholas completed their first big race for the club in 2:15:35 and 2:26:38.
At the tough Hebdon Brook 13:5 held in Nelson, ten members took on the demanding hilly course. Times recorded show the intensity of the course but good performances provided satisfaction for everyone.
