At the Lea Town 10K , runners had ideal conditions for this scenic country run. Vet 75 runners Bernard and Evelyn Elkington both took their age category prizes, both comfortably beating the hour in great times of 56.24 and 58.48. Carol Douglass took the Vet 65 prize in a time of 51minutes and newcomer Claire Bunce ran 48.02 to be first Red Rose lady. Paula Plowman had a good run following on from her recent marathon, finishing in 49.42. Karen Clark and husband Chris completed the race in 63.41.

Joe Swarbrick picked up the Vet 55 prize in 38.05 with Ken Addison finishing 14th in a time of 38.44. Shane Cliffe ran a strong race, a week after a 3 hour 10 min marathon in Amsterdam, in 40.58 and John Shepherd finished in 41.34 after completing the Standich Trail race the day before. Dave Hooton filled the next position in 42.44 with Barry Wheeler and Simon Murphy crossing the line together in 45.36, emphasising the friendliness of Red Rose Road Runners!

Fast improving Mark Billington raced in the Autumn Breaker 10k at Stanley Park Blackpool, in almost perfect running conditions he posted an impressive new PB of 41.35.
