With a competitive field of 47 runners, the Catforth 5K produced some fast times. John Shepherd of Red Rose ran well for 7thplace in 17.54. Also running was Paul Woan finishing in 20th in 19.55.
At the Longridge Lions 7 mile John Shepherd again turned out covering the course in 45.49 for 6th place with Phil Darwen running well for 49.56. A good turn out from newer members saw Simon O’Leary finish 20th in 50.26, with the experience Stuart Cann running 52.05, followed closely by Doug Bryden in 52.33 in 23rd place.
Vanessa Morris and Jim Robinson ran well over this relentlessly hilly course in 63.50 and 72.56.
The Jubilee 5K saw Janice Johnstone finish in 29.01 with Adela Nuttall not far behind in 29.32. Arthur Green ran 34.18 with Sandra Rolston completing the course in 38.13.
The Parkrun 5k attracted several Red Rose runners with Sally Cape winning the Jubilee fancy dress prize in a best time of 27.41 with others improving on their previous times as well. J.Swarbrick 19.06, S.Cliffe 19.40, S.Cann 20.46, R.Johnson 25.34, Y.Johnson 26.02.
