The latest Inter Club race was hosted by Chorley at Astley Park. John Shepherd was pleased to return from holiday and secure his place as first V45 for the series in 30.27 over the 4.78 mile course. New member Andrew Prendergast showed his potential running strongly from the gun and coming in 23rd place in 30.50. Joe Swarbrick clocked 31.15 with Ken Addison closing quickly to finish in 31.29, in 32nd place. Shane Cliffe all but confirmed his position as second place for the V45 series with a time of 31.50. Claire Bunce lead the Red Rose women home in 32.22 and fourth lady overall. Steve Whitney was on her heels in 32.24 followed by Ben Donoghue 10 seconds later. Phil Butler and Dave Maudsley ran 33.04 and 34.14 to complete the overall team effort, seeing Red Rose take third place behind Preston and Wesham.

The trio of Phil Darwin, Geoff Haworth and Phil Davidson kept close tabs on each other with times of 35.20, 35.38 and 35.52. Debbie Kirkman was 14th lady and 3rd F.40, in a time of 37.15. John Wiseman improved his finishing position for the fifth time in the series with a time of 39.21 and Paula Plowman followed him in, in 39.22.

Gavin Beetham ran 42.01 with Sally Cape finishing in 45.42 and Janet Saynor in 56.02. A good team performance all round showed the Vet 40 and Vet 50 teams both taking third place for the evening and the ladies taking 4th place.

The Parkrun 5K attracted three new Red Rose runners, Dave Maudsley 21.15, Karen Clark 29.19 and Helen Rutherford 34.28 as well as new PB’s for Sally Cape ,27.03 and Louise Gavell 28.08.
