The Chipping Show Fell Race was the last inter club race of the season. Building on the good performances in previous races, the women’s team secured top place for the season. Paula Plowman also won the female vet category. The men’s team did well finishing second for the season with Barry Wheeler finishing as first male and Shane Cliffe taking second V40.

The Fleetwood half marathon was an enjoyable flat course in good conditions, mostly along the prom and coastal roads, with only few but very supportive spectators. Jose Pinon Shaw ran well to be first for the club in 1.27.30 with Phil Darwen finishing in 1.34.43, Keith Burrows kept up his record of beating 2 hours finishing in 1.57.34. Ann Nelson and Jo Duffy finished together in 2.01.22.
Phil Darwen was in action again a week later at the Hilton Blackpool half marathon with an improved time of 1.34.00 with Simon Murphy finishing in 2.03.56.
A quartet from Red Rose ran the low key 4 miler at Great Eccleston, with the race providing a welcome return for Cliff Utting and Albert Bolton following long absences due to injury and illness respectively. Dave Maudsley led the way in 9th place with a time of 26:37 with Cliff Utting 14th in 28:25. Debbie Kirkman took the prize for second lady in 28:50 with Albert Bolton completing in 36:51.
