New PB for Billington at Blackpool Marathon

Mark Billington finally reached ‘marathon day’ after long winter days of training. At the Blackpool Marathon, Mark, clearly in good form, crossed the line in a PB of 3.22.21. Stuart Cann had 3 days to prepare himself for the race and amazingly  posted a very respectable 3.38.51.

In the half marathon event Colin Manning again improved on previous attempts at this distance, taking 6 minutes off his best time to finish in 2.10.34. New member Charles Bradley ran a time of 2.50.54.

Peter Bolton was the lone Red Roser at the Pendle Fell Race in Barley finishing in 52.23.

Parkrun provided the opportunity for a quick time with the best conditions for weeks. Joan Gouldthorpe ran a PB of 25.36 and Sal Cape improved her time finishing in 26.45.

At the first of the Inter Club runs, held at Stanley Park, a fantastic turn out from Red Rose members ensured a lively atmosphere at the presentation of last year’s trophies where the club picked up several awards in the Vet categories.
