Mark Billington finally reached ‘marathon day’ after long winter days of training. At the Blackpool Marathon, Mark, clearly in good form, crossed the line in a PB of 3.22.21. Stuart Cann had 3 days to prepare himself for the race and amazingly posted a very respectable 3.38.51.
In the half marathon event Colin Manning again improved on previous attempts at this distance, taking 6 minutes off his best time to finish in 2.10.34. New member Charles Bradley ran a time of 2.50.54.
Peter Bolton was the lone Red Roser at the Pendle Fell Race in Barley finishing in 52.23.
Parkrun provided the opportunity for a quick time with the best conditions for weeks. Joan Gouldthorpe ran a PB of 25.36 and Sal Cape improved her time finishing in 26.45.
At the first of the Inter Club runs, held at Stanley Park, a fantastic turn out from Red Rose members ensured a lively atmosphere at the presentation of last year’s trophies where the club picked up several awards in the Vet categories.
