The first of the Badger Runs at Cuerden Valley was run in sweltering conditions last Thursday evening. Red Runners posted some creditable times with Dave Maudsley knocking four minutes off his previous best time to finish in 42.42. Debbie Kirkman led the club’s women home with a time of 46.39 to take the F40 prize, followed by Janine Needham being second F35 in 47.31. Cliff Utting ran 48.24 and won the M60 prize. Further prizes went to Joan Gouldthorpe F60 in 55.43 and Carolyn F65 in 54.24. Additional excellent support for this great challenging 10K course came from John Wiseman 51.46, Carol Hughes 52.11, Yvonne Johnson 56.46, Roger Johnson 59.38, Shelley Regan 62.26, Colin Manning 63.26.
Good conditions for the Preston Parkrun proved favourable for PB.s Joe Donoghue again improve his time, 20.34, Mark Billington 21.07 and Anthony Murphy 21.09.
The evening Catforth Canter 5K saw excellent runs from Dave Maudsley with 19.01 and Mark Billington finishing in 19.43.
At the Morecambe 10K Jose Pinon Shaw just missed out on first M45 with a great performance, chip timed at 39.47. Phil Darwen had a confidence boosting 40.54. Simon Houghton returned in 44.21 and Bernard Elkington V75 finished in 63.17.
