The scenic Great Langdale Half Marathon is a stern challenge for any runner but still attracted a field of nearly 300 this year. Dave Maudsley took up the challenge of the undulating and in several places, very hilly, course. His time of 1.50.32 is an indication to how tough a race it is. Shane Cliffe used the same venue as the latest stage in his 10 in 10 marathon challenge. He undertook the marathon distance with 138 other runners on the two- lap course. His recovery time after finishing in 3.47.43 will be a good pointer to his level of endurance at this stage of his training.
