Red Rose Road Runners attended the Roddlesworth Roller 6 mile multi terrain race this weekend. It was also great to see the Red Rose presence there, to support the younger members as they ran in the first Junior Club Championship race, the Daffodil Doddle. Alice Lodge impressed everyone with her time of 11.38 with Hannah Bosman also running well in 14.57. Young Elizabeth Hyde ran well along with Lisa Hyde finishing in 17.09.
Ben Donoghue was 10th in the 6 mile race finishing in 35.50 followed by Stuart Cann in 39.18. Frank Nightingale, who ran 43.53 was third home for the club. Margaret Lupton enjoyed another first RR lady home performance with a time of 47.48 with Paula Plowman finishing the challenging course in 49.22. Debbie Porter had a good race, (50.50) just ahead of Carol Douglass who finished 3rd in her F60 category in 51.54. Other finishers were Richard Lodge 52.15, David Nicholson 55.39, Helen Orson 59.18, Ann Donoghue 70.22, Amy Midgley 70.45.
Junior member, Megan Gore became the youngest ever to complete the Cuerden Valley Parkrun, last week and this week, Joe Donoghue ran an excellent 19.00 at Preston followed by Ethan Hodgkinson in 21.20 both new PB’s.
Yvonne Johnson ran 28.18 and Alice Lodge finished in 34.07 for their new PB’s at Cuerden.
Ken Addison was the only RR runner at the windy Dentdale 14 mile race finishing in 1.36.06 to be 5th V50 and 1st over 55.
