Durkin sets Impressive time at Chester Marathon

Anthony Durkin continued his great progress following on from a 1hr 24 min half marathon to complete the Chester Marathon in an impressive 3.03.52. John Naylor continued his marathon journey with a time of 3.52.04.

At the Tissington Trail Half Marathon held on the paths that were once the railway, Mike Esssex battled the ‘sideways rain’ as well as the multi terrain course to finish in a creditable 1.52.04. Meanwhile the Rivington Half Marathon got great feedback from competitors with a brilliant run from Alan Jolly of 1.38.35 to be 58th out of a field of 356 and sixth in the V45 category. Another excellent performance came from Janine Needham with 1.49.48. Rob Mather ran well for 1.55.28 with other good runs coming from Debbie Porter in 2.04.10 and Jenny Fairclough in 2.19.02. Ramona Mulligan and Gina Biggs brought the best out of each other with times of 2.56.18 and 2.56.26.

Judith Cook running with Keith O’Brien was pleased to better her 5k time by almost 2 minutes to finish in 33.34 at the Lytham Hall race. Steve Gore covered the course in 20.09.

At the local Parkruns four Red Rose members achieved PB’s for the 5k. At Cuerden Valley Jon Royle ran 26.02 and Karen Clark finished in 29.02. At Preston, David Dyson came home in a very respectable 23.25 and Alecia Johnstone also ran well for 24.14.
