A well-earned victory for Janine Needham of Red Rose was the highlight of the weekend’s races. The Graylaw Freight Farmers Arms 10k attracted just over a hundred runners where Janine came home in 43.52 ahead of a chasing pack of several other ladies all who broke 45 minutes on a challenging, undulating course against blustery conditions. Brent Whybro also completed the race in 53.45.
The popular Green Drive 5 in its 15th year was also held with Alan Jolly putting in another good performance finishing in 32.37. Andrew Stell ran well for 35.50 with Sue Harrison completing the Red Rose line up with a time of 49.54.
Parkrun also provided the chance for more PB’s. At the tough Cuerden Valley event Junior member Finty Royle ran an excellent time of 23.13. Stuart Cann finished in 20.38, Karen Clark improved her time again to 28.20 and young Eric Ward ran well for 42.57.
At Preston Daniel Hughes ran under 19 minutes, 18.53 and Steve Worswick improved his time to 24.16.
