A busy weekend for the club with club members taking part in at least 6 different events.

The biggest attraction was the Mid Lancs Cross Country held at Blackpool which fielded 35 members.

In the junior races we had, in the girls events, Alice Lodge 29th in 9m 45secs and Daisy Royle 45th 10.39 at U11. Finty Royle 7th 10.09 at U13. For the boys, Ethan Hodgkinson finished 13th in 26.58 at U17 level.

17 ladies finished the 6k course, lead home by Paula Plowman 67th in 30.05, followed by,

Sarah Malty 72nd 30.21, Polly Bibby 74th 30.29, Margaret Lupton 84th 31.18, Debbie Porter 92nd 31.59, Joan Goldthorpe 99th 32.46, Vicky Gore 107th 34.08, Karen Clark 109th 34.23, Helen Orson 117th 35.54, Abigail Brown 120th 36.28, Claire Shaw 121st 36.29, Wendy Ward 132nd 39.16, Janet Saynor 137th 41.51, Diane Hill 138th 43.10, Susan Heatley 139th 43.32, Lydia Plackett 141st 44.41 and Pita Oates 142nd 44.41.

Representing the men were Dan Hughes 67th 39.48, Stu Cann 84th 41.06, Ken Addison 87th 41.20, Ben Donoghue 88th 41.20, Anthony Durkin 103rd 42.15, Philip Davison 122nd 43.20, Dave Maudsley 144th 45.15, John Naylor 149th 45.34, Chris Brown 152nd 45.52, David Raynor 158th 47.06, Barry Wheeler 175th 50.01, Jon Wright 177th 50.23, Anthony Murphy 178th 50.24, Jon Royle 191st 54.27 and Warren Joyce 197th 59.39.

There was success for the club in the team results. The ladies V55 and mens V50 teams both topping their categories.

In the Muddy Shoes race at Calder Vale David Raino was 41st in 1hr 38 minutes, Lucy Lodge 69th 2hr 03m 45s, Richard Lodge 70th 2hr 3m 51s with Margaret Lupton 71st 2hr 4m 2s.

At the Central Lancs 5k Simon Houghton finished in 124th with 22.09.

The Valentines Day Duet race had 3 club members competing, Ray Taylor 66th 49.20, Joan Goldthorpe 83rd 53.20 and Tracy Alami 115th 62.33.

The 2 local 5k parkruns had the usual swarms of RRRR’s. 29 at Cuerden Valley with 4 pb’s to mention from Carol Heaton 32.16, John Naylor 21.29, Lee Burton 28.41 and a fine 19.44 from Karl Hodgson on this demanding route. While at Preston there were another 15 runners with 3 more pb’s from Marion O’Grady 31.14, Joanne Malcomson 23.56 and Michael Pate 20.44.
