Red Rose Road Runners didn’t appear to notice the bad weather this weekend. 34 runners out of 99 and over a dozen volunteers at Cuerden Valley Parkrun were from the club. With the weather stopping runners travelling to races and some races being cancelled, this was an impressive show of strength. Although PB’s were virtually impossible, Richard Field managed it in a time of 24.51 and Lisa Hyde in 33.10. Red Roser, Karl Hodgson was first over the line in a time of 19.59 nearly a minute slower than his best.
At the Preston event, a turnout of 142 runners was good in the circumstances. Joe Donoghue celebrated being first home with a PB of 17.48. In 3rd place Dan Hughes ran 18.50. John Naylor also gained a commendable PB with a time of 19.33 in 7th place. Excellent runs from Helen Orsen (30.58) and Ann Donoghue (31.19) were rewarded with PB times.
