Weekly Roundup 4th October 2016

Red Rose had a contingent of 16 doing the Chester Marathon and 3 doing the metric marathon of 26.2 km. Very warm conditions don’t suit everyone but we had plenty of runners performing well. Duncan Anderson ran an excellent 2.59.12, Alex Venable finished in 3.23.27 followed by Nigel Britton in 3.30.21. Further down the field, Gareth Bell achieved 3.48.13 with Shane Cliffe next, pleased with 3.49.09. Andy Hale was well inside 4 hours with 3.56.01. As the field spread out, most of our runners must have needed to pace their own efforts which can be a difficult task, so all the times here are hard earned. Jonathon Gore secured a time of 4.10.22. Gemma Lodge was our first women home in 4.30.22, Gareth Fairey wasn’t far behind in 4.32.21. Margaret Lupton finished in 4.38.09 with Richard Lodge next in 4.42.04.
