A good little race on Sunday saw 35 runners racing at the Lancaster Christmas Cracker 10k. Notable for this amazing RRRR stat. Every Red Rose runner won a prize! Ken Addison V60 was 3rd overall 37.43, (10th best UK v60 time for 2016), Sandra Rolston 1st f v55 62.08, knocking over 3 minutes off her pb, Authur Green 1st v70 66.15, Paula Cherry 1st f v45 70.36 and Bernard Elkington 1st v80 72.21. The last 1k was slightly tricky with a gradual climb and the last 300m across a wet playing field with a couple of slippy bends but the rest was fast and flat along the paths past Saltaire and back.
On Saturday 4 Red Rose runners were also in Lancaster for the 315 series final races of the year. Ian Warton and Debbie Porter ran the 10k. Ian clocked 45,52 and Debbie was first V45 lady in 52.39. In the 5k option Kate Clipston had an excellent race 22.44 and Jenny Bradley ran 27.41.
In the Hurst Green Turkey Trot there was a fine turn out of festive fancy dress. 14 rosers were there with Philip Davidson leading the club finishers in 49th place 39.23 for the 5 mile race. John Allen was next in 41.39 followed by Jim Robinson 54.55, Cat Holden 57.17, Lynn Melvin, Alison Mercer, Mary Conway, Helen Greenhalgh, and Richard Ward all finished in a group around 71.17, Josephine Walsh was close behind 71.29, Nina Colquhoun 72.01, Tracy Woods 72.06, Janette Covell 72.50 finished with Faisal Ali 72.51 to round out the team finishers.
