Red Rose Road Runners went to the Yarrow Valley Bluebell 10k, a Mad Bull event where participants are treated to the sight of masses of bluebells but need to be prepared to wade waist high through the stream as they complete the out and bac course. 31 RRRR took part with Simon Croft coming in second in 40.58 with Kristian Lowe 10th in 45.45. Janine Needham was 22nd in 50.24. Results: Chris Patterson 51.52, Lee Lawrenson 53.03, Chris Corrigan 54.57, Gaby Concepcion 56.26, Gareth Bell 58.18, Alison Parkinson 58.38, Lewis Withnell 59.45, Anneke Crosby 60.25, Paula Plowman 60.47, Melanie Lowe 64.06, Jonathan Gore 65.01, John Plowman 65.21, Steve Taylor 67.00, Catherine Karn 68.25, Jim Robinson 70.26, Gareth Fairey 71.05, Nicola Patterson 72.26, Wendy Rogerson 72.26, Loise Withnell 72.27, Sarah Haslam 74.23, Richard Ward 75.24, Wendy Ward 75.24, Katie Johnson 80.37, Andrea Davison 80.37, Corah Annand 86.09, John Barker 86.10, Tracy Wood 91.46, Janette Covell 91.46.

At another seasonal run Phil Davidson took part in the Bluebell Trail 10 mile finishing in 1.27.24.

At Whitechapel, the Blacksticks Blue 10k provided a testing course, taking in the uphill road to Beacon Fell visitors centre returning through Bleasdale. Richard Maughan was 12th in 39.30 closely followed by new member Jack Bretherton with a great time of 39.35. Jill Jefferson was 4th lady in 45.26 and Ted Dempsey won the V70 prize in 59.08. Other results: J.Swarbrick 41.09, S. Shaw 42.38,J.Naylor 45.51, R.Barnes 49.13, B.Hanley 53.21, A.Mercer 57.30, C.Holden 59.38, K.Clark 72.26, C.Clark 72.29.

Lee Burton completed the Volkswagon Prague Marathon finishing in 5.05.46, not everything went to plan but with great determination finished the course, ready to take on another at some time.

Some fast times were recorded at the exciting Liverpool Spring 10k. Andy Birkbeck ran an excellent 41.39 followed by Dave Bayliss 47.06,Wayne Sharples 47.31, James Butler 48.34, Ben Smithers 49.35, Matt Ashton 51.48, Beth Hayman 52.18, Michelle Livesey 57.23, and Sharon Birkbeck cracking the hour with 59.35.

Several runners took in the Kentmere Trail Races. In the tough 17k race Dave Raynor finished in 1.37.40 followed by Doug Bryden in 1.49.42 and Josephine Walsh in 2.24.28. In the 10k race, which in fact measured 7.25 miles, John Barker ran 1.03.52,Lee Lawrenson 1.04.25, Paul Mounsey 1.07.00,Jonathan Evans 1.08.48, Lisa Bolton 1.08.49, John Wiseman 1.16.29,Austin Trelfa 1.30.19, David Watson 1.36.19. In the 5k, with the steep climb, Liz Mounsey and Danielle Mounsey acquitted themselves brilliantly in 51.04.

A band of RRRR entered the Beaverbrook 10k at Blackpool but results have not appeared on the website as yet.
