A warm glow of 42 red vests were on the start line for the Garstang Half Marathon. Great performances saw Simon Croft take 3rd place in 1.16.21 and Janine Needham took 3rd place in the women’s race in 1.39.02. Further high placings came from strong runs from Duncan Anderson 1.20.21, Dan Hughes 1.22.01 and Jose Pinon Shaw 1.25.45. The Vets were in form again with Dave Parkinson being first V50 in 1.25.45 and Joe Swarbrick first V60 in 1.29.59.The women were even more prolific with Jill Jefferson 4th overall and first F55 in 1.39.48, Lorna Taylor first F35 in 1.56.14, Alison Parkinson first F50 in 1.56.50, Carol Douglass first F70 in 1.58.44 and Joan Gouldthorpe first F65 in 2.05.12.

Five Red Rosers were on the Derwent Water Trail 10km on Saturday 2nd Sept: Jonathan Evans 54.16,Austin Trelfa 1:01:48 Vet60, Jim McLean 1:05:19 Vet 60, David Watson 1:06:05 Vet 50 & Dawn Mclean 1:29:07 Lady Vet 50. In the15km trail, Richard Hally led the team home in 1.34.07, Doug Bryden 1.37.54, David Bayliss 1.39.30, Pete O’Grady 1.44.41, and Josephine Walsh 2.12.45.
Another large contingent set off for the Wigan 10k with some PB performances.
