The first Mawdesley 10k Trail race was a great success. In an excellent location the relatively flat course was made harder by mud and puddles and a final kilometre across the fields. Paula Plowman 54.32, was the first F50. Caroline Newton finished in 59.03.Emily Ingham ,61.10,was the only Junior Female finisher. Pauline Moorcroft 57.05, was first F55. Susan Sweeney was second F55 in 89.45.Our team was completed by Mike Jeffryes 62.24, Louise Withnell 62.44, Judi Ingham 64.11, Kelly Day 73.43, Gina Biggs 78.06.
The Tunnel 10k was an atmospheric location for a race for Ben Smithers 44.37, David Bayliss 49.02,Steven Moon 55.01 and James Rimmer 60.34.
The popular Saturday evening event, the Pilling 10k saw Steve Boardman home as first Red Rose I 43.43 in 30th place followed by Ray Taylor in 44.26 and Neil Walker 39th in 46.04. Carol Douglass finished in an excellent 51.23, to be first V70 and Joan Gouldthorpe first F65 in 54.26.
Phil Davidson has competed last week in the Robin Hood Half marathon with a time of 1.41.23 and followed it up this weekend with a tough 5 miler at the Gin Pit 5 finishing in 36.14.
Simon Thompson proudly wore his Red Rose vest at the Pontefract Half Marathon in the beautiful countryside of Ackworth, Wentbridge and Carlton, finishing on the cobbles of Market Place. He cracked a 100 minutes with a time of 1.39.35.
At Preston Parkrun Paul Mounsey post a new PB of 19.23 as did Faron Jones in a great time of 23.44.
