Email addresses

Periodically I send out emails to the membership.  Email addresses managed by certain ISP’s always fail and from time to time I try to text people with those addresses to let them know and to ask them if they have another address we could use.  The reasons for the failure vary by ISP but the most common are

  1. That the email domain redroseroadrunners.org is on the ISP’s blacklist.
  2. That the email servers of 1and1 (our ISP) are on a blacklist.

The club can’t reasonably do anything about this other than to tell members that club emails are not getting through to some addresses. Members affected can either use a different email address or accept that they do not get any club emails.

The affected addresses include and may not be limited to

  • xxx@tiscali.co.uk
  • xxx@tesco.net
  • xxx@talktalk.net
  • xxx@wanadoo.co.uk
  • xxx@orangehome.co.uk

The mail systems handing these addresses are the ones that tell our email system that our emails are blacklisted.  It could well be that other email systems are not doing that and just discarding our emails.

If anyone does change their email address then please let me know.
