A day out for Red Rose saw a large contingent travel to Bolton Abbey for a choice of trail races over challenging terrain. With a choice of 10K, 10 miles and a half marathon to choose from, there were some great performances.

Iain Mitchell led our 10k runners home in 66.45 followed by John Wiseman 70.28, Austin Trelfa 76.28 and Carol Heaton 94.26. In the 10 mile race Phil Davidson was 2nd V55 in 1.37.33, Michael Patten was next in 1.47.26. Anneke Crosby was surprised to hear she had taken the F50 prize in 2.02.26 finishing alongside Pauline Moorcroft with the same time who was rewarded with 3rd F55.

The Windmill 10k was a big event with over 500 participants with 40 Red Rose finishers. Inevitably there was a cold wind to chill the runners but plenty of good times were posted. The latest crop of Red Rose Graduates enjoyed great success and support at the Preston parkrun.
