With a lot of wintry weather around, only the really hardy runners ventured out this weekend. The Longridge 7 had to be re routed for safety reasons but the alternative course went down well with the runners. Stuart Cann had a great run leading Red Rose home in a time of 48.10 which was rewarded with the V50 prize. Jill Jefferson was also amongst the prizes with a time of 52.07 taking the F55 title. All performances were rewarded with medals and Christmas puddings and a few people will look back on this race with fond if cold memories.

Parkrun events were affected by the weather and whilst over 200 runners turned out at Preston, it was too risky for personal best attempts.
At the Leigh Cross Country event a smaller field than normal turned up. Red Rose however had two ladies teams represented by Nicola Hughes, Ruth Travis and Joan Gouldthorpe with Debbie Porter ,Alison Mercer and Sarah Haslam completing the B team. The Men also formed two full teams of 6. The A team comprised of Daniel Hughes , James Simon, Kristian Lowe, Frank Nightingale, Gary Corcoran, and Barry Wheeler. The B team was made up of Scott Jackson, Manolo Mendoza, Mike Hall, Simon Shaw, Mark McCrea, Paul Gardener.
Red Rose were well represented at the Santa Dash in memory of Ben Ashworth with some attempting to run the Guild Wheel before and after the 5k dash.
