The incredible Gina Biggs has joined the 100 Marathon Club, probably the youngest person to do so, after finishing 51 marathons this year, 4 of which were ultra events. Her 99th event was the Sunrise to Sunset challenge, 31 miles, and on New Year’s Eve the Liverbird event.
Philp Davidson also reached a personal milestone, maybe the first person to complete all the Parkrun events in the North West including the Isle of Man. On Saturday, his final two were completed by running the Barrow event at 9.00 in 22.31 before making the journey to Millom for a 10.30 start, finishing the course in 28.56.He is now officially a ‘Regionnaire’.
Red Rose had a large presence at the Ribble Valley 10k which always attracts a high class field. Simon Croft was 50th in 34.01 with Dan Hughes our next runner in 36.50 and James Simon followed very closely behind in 37.01.David Parkinson gained 6th place in the V50 category in 39.07 and Wesley Wilkinson and Gareth Case both broke 40 minutes with times of 39.10 and 39.23.Janine Needham finished in 43.45 to be9th in the F40 category and Ray Taylor was 3rd V65 in 44.57.Nicola Hughes was well placed in the womens’ race in 39th place with a time of 44.49. Laura Houghton,48.45 ran well to cross the line just in front of Ruth Travis 48.55, but their chip times showed Ruth with a faster time.

In Benidorm, Nina Colquhoun competed in the San Silvestre 4km for the second year finishing in 26.05 whilst back in Preston Sam Edwards set a new PB at the Preston parkrun with a time of 23.30.
Red Rose also had a contingent who doubled up by doing the Stretford and Sale parkrun on their awayday in Manchester. Another group visited the picturesque Haigh Hall.
