On Wednesday 1st August, Mike Hall took part in the Capenwray Sprint Triathlon. Despite gearing issues on his bike that caused him to stop three times, he took the Vet 50 prize, with a total time of 1:10:02 for 30th place.

Thursday 2nd August saw the final running of The Badger 10K trail series of races, a popular local race, set in Cuerden Valley Park, that has been re-invented this year. The series was in the Red Rose Road Runners Grand Prix competition and saw a large turnout of members across the three races both to run and to volunteer as marshals. The Red Rose member results for the three races can be found here.

In a completely different type of event, 5 members took on the challenge of a 2-8-2 Duathlon, hosted by Tri Preston. The event comprised a 2 mile run, 8 mile bike ride and finished with a further 2 miles run. Time are shown below:

parkrun

As with every Saturday, members participated in a variety of parkruns, including the inaugural Fleetwood Promenade parkrun, which saw Phil Davidson maintain his ‘regionaire’ status (someone who has completed every parkrun in the region), accompanied by several other members. The full consolidated list of Red Rose Road Runners at parkruns last weekend can be found here.
