The newly launched Preston 10k took place with a large field of 1428. Starting and finishing in the the city centre the course took in the banks of the River Ribble , the Tram Road ,Preston Junction and the Bridge Inn before returning via Miller and Avenham Parks. Matt Holmes was our first man home in 8th place in a time of 37.12. In 17th place Ciarron Roddy ran 39.01 and Barry Wheeler ran 40.05. Our women were lead home by Janine Needham in 43.29 to take 3rd F40. Jill Jefferson was our next lady home in 45.33 to be first F60 and Claire Shaw finished in 50.28 to be 4th F35.These three runners took the Women’s team prize. More high places were achieved by Lynne Kenyon 1st F50 in 50.39 and Michelle Griffiths 2nd F50 in 51.08. John Allen finished as 3rd V55 in 43.43 and Dave Hooton was 3rd V65 in 48.18. Seven Red Rosers ventured to the Mawdesley Millenium Green 10k trail race on Sunday, which is a mixture of country lanes, trail paths and meadows in and around the lovely village of Mawdesley. The runners were treated to flat and dry conditions and a chance to contribute to a MacMillan cake and coffee event in the race base at the Red Lion. Overall results:
Ian Croft 46:04, Phil Butler 47:25, Ann Cleave 52:48, Alicia Croft 53:05, Ruth Travis 54:07, Mike Jeffreys 58:33, Jenny Fairclough 1:07:53.

Kathryn Abbott went to Glasgow and came back with a shiny new PB of 1.57.01 for the half marathon.

Mike Hall was our only runner at the Pilling 10k and ran an impressive 40.37 for 15th place.

Simon Thompson went over the county border to the Pontefract Half Marathon to record a great time of 1.33.40 to record a new PB by 6 minutes.

4 Red Rosers were at the Altcar trail 10k today- all proceeds to the soldiers charity and a tough trail! Pauline Moorcroft came in 1st F55 again, she was joined by Lisa Baron, Katy Saw and Allan Howard.
