The Christmas Cracker 10k saw Gary Corcoran finish in 10th place and 1st V45 in 39.27. In 11th, Manolo Mendoza was hot on his heels in 39.46. Ben Smithers ran 48.14 followed by Natalie Moore who finished as 1st F35 in 48.47. Steve Taylor (58.47) was glad to finish under the hour in a successful comeback, well supported by Kate Clipston in 58.52. Gina Biggs ran 83.13 having already run the Ford Park parkrun in 38.14. Ben Smithers ran 24.50.

At the Preston parkrun Esther Stanier took her PB down to 25.42. Tiahna Ritchens (JW10) improved again, (35.46). Katy Cooper also improved with a time of 37.35. At Cuerden Valley Laura Houghton showed she is in great form with a time of 24.50. Red Rose parkrun tourism saw seven club members take on a testing course at Clitheroe. Stuart Cann 22.40, Anneke Crosby 25.38, Peter O’Grady 26.14, James Hughes 27.22, Marion O’Grady 32.27, Sandra Rolston 34.01, Arthur Green 40.09.

Wet conditions met runners at the Rudolph 5 mile race. Fancy Dress was almost compulsory which suited Red Rose Runners on the morning after their Christmas ‘Do’. Jonathan Finch, 36.30, just held off Nicola Hughes, 36.32 who finished as 2nd Lady and first in her age group. Our other runners were Richard Field 37.32, Leanne Finch 46.15, Alison Mercer 46.27, Louise Withnell 47.43, Mel Lowe 47.44, Katy Cleece 47.44, Sandra Rolston 53.12, Arthur Green 60.18, Mary Conway 62.00, Tracy Woods 63.28, Wendy Ward 63.28, Janette Covell 63.29.

A ‘parkrun by numbers’ report, concentrates on Kew Woods parkrun # 2. Three Red Rose Road Runners finished in the first eight finishers. After the first 3 runners on the course took a wrong turn, Wesham Road Runner, Steven Gore took the spoils. Red Rosers John Benedict Allen, 21:02 in 4th, Liam Hooton 21:08 in 5th and David Hooton 24:13 in 21st all managed first place finishes in their respective age groups VM55-59, SM30-34 and VM65-69 with David narrowly taking the age grade honours by the narrowest 0.04%. Philip Davidson, 22:24 in 8th was completing his 64th NW parkrun in total, his 99th Tourist run, and is hoping to complete the full Cowell 100 with a New Years Day double of Barnsley and Nostell.
