Jenny Fairclough ran in her first event as a V60, as the only Red Roser in the Parbold Hill Race in a ‘pensioner plodding’ time of 1:26:24 (her words!). It is fantastic local event with 6.75 miles of undulating, mixed terrain of fields, paths and tarmac. ’The top Red Rose support by Nicola Hughes and Badger at the top of Parbold Hill was very welcome indeed. ‘A good time was had by all in the lovely weather’.

On Saturday, Louise Withnell and Katy Cleece set new 5k PBs! Louise demonstrating how hard work and determination pays off with a new 5k time of 26:27- her first ever parkrun was 41:37. Katy’s new time is 26:39 which earned her a first in her age category at Lytham Hall. On Sunday they were the only 2 Red Rosers at Stockport trail half marathon- a good flat route although uneven underfoot and congested in places with runners, walkers, cyclists, dogs and horses. Katy set a new PB of 2:06:46 and Louise finished in 2:08:24.

A Red Rose group did the Silverdale Circuit!(courtesy of Wendy Ward’s facebook comment and photo) A fantastic route organised by Ascend Events. The route started from Milnthorpe Cricket Club to the only checkpoint at Silverdale then going up Arnside Knott and the fairy steps before returning to Milnthorpe. Great weather certainly helped!!! As you can see we ran as a team but the club was also represented by Iain Mitchell, Chris Jimmy Hargreaves, Andy Hale and two other lovely red rosers (sorry, don’t know your names!)Hope you all had fun!?!?!
