The club’s main focus after a very successful Presentation Night was hosting the latest Mid Lancs cross country event in Cuerden Valley. As ever the club members provided excellent marshalls and loads of encouragement for all the runners. The Red Rose women had six runners, led home by Nicola Hughes in 13th place in a time of 25.09 with Sam Edwards just ahead of Katy Cleece in times of 27.19 and 27.31. Joan Gouldthorpe ran well in the F65 category for a time of 31.12 with Catherine Karn (32.19) and Alison Mercer (32.36) completing the team effort.
Dan Hughes was the best of our men finishing in the 10k course in 39.05 with plenty of quality finishes throughout the team. Scott Jackson excelled himself in the Chester Ultra Marathon, his first attempt at this distance. He ran 51 miles with 2635ft of ascent included, in a brilliant time of 9 hours 27 minutes.

Gina Biggs got a new PB on Telford parkrun in 25.37, before she and Ben did the Groundhog half marathon in Telford the same day achieving another PB of 2.14.51. Ben ran 22.13 for the parkrun and 2.00.14 in the half.
The out and back undulating Haweswater Half is great event and we had three runners there. Anthony Pope 2.13.34, Emily Atkinson 2.25.09, Josephine Walsh 2.40.06.
The Accrington 10k consists of what seems like 7k uphill and 3k downhill and our runners came away with hard fought for times. Doug Bryden 50.36, Lynne Kenyon 51.36, Graham Brennan 53.17, Claire Shaw 53.17, Keith Burrows 55.49,Joydip Majumder 61.01.
