My name is Abigail, I’m 7 years old and I’ve been running for nearly 2 years. I started running with my mummy and her friends from Red Rose at Cuerden Valley. Then I joined junior parkrun and I’ve done 8 junior parkruns now. I have done 20 of the main 5k parkruns and I have volunteered 27 times.
As well as running at parkrun I have done lots of fun runs including crazy calf, UCLan avenham park, UCLan colour run, race2remember, worden park, pretty muddy kids race 4 life, new longton and Kirkby Safari monkey mile. This year I am doing Southport mile, Chorley fire fun run and the ice cream run.
I joined Red Rose Juniors (Rosebuds) this year and I loved the sessions because they are more fun than just running. You get to run with the parachute, throw the rockets, long jump, and play games like follow the leader, tig, and obstacle courses. I have friends at Red Rose Juniors too and I like seeing them and playing with them.
So, if you are a junior, or have a junior who may enjoy the sessions like I do, please bring them along! There is a Facebook group called Red Rose Juniors and all the information is there. I hope to see some more of you there soon!
