The much loved ‘Crazy Cow 10k took place over a new route along the River Ribble starting and finishing at the Walton le Dale, Park and Ride. A huge turnout for Red Rose saw Liam Hooton finish in 42.15 with Andrew Stell taking the V45 prize in 44.15. James Darkin was our third runner in 44.53. Janette Rayton was our first female in 49.12 finishing as 2nd F40. Carol Douglass was our second lady in 53.26 to take the first F70. Paula Stell was our 3rd lady in 54.30. We had 34 finishers. Twelve Red Rose Juniors (rosebuds) took part in Sunday’s Crazy Calf race. Times are still pending and should appear on Fylde Coast Runners website when finalised. Dan Smith led the pack with a time 5:57, closely followed by Lucie Clipston then Holly Smith. Eliza Smith was next, then Tegan Bentley followed by Abigail Cleece and then the youngest Rosebud, Joe Atkinson. The rest of the pack saw Eva Atkinson, new members Krysie Carson and Lily Carson then Jorga- Lily Kay and Jack Cleece. Well done to all the Rosebuds and enjoy those cow bells!

Daniel Hands did the 2 lap Junior parkrun in Bolton in 12.27.

Race the Train starts from Bury train station on the sound of the steam trains whistle. Runners set off North along trail paths running alongside the railway lines and Irwell River. The run is from point to point, starting at Bury and finishing at Rawtenstall Station. Michael Oddie continued his great form with a time of 1.18.34. Chris Hargreaves ran 1.25.10 followed by Phill Berry in 1.44.02 and Nikki Berry in 1.50.44.

At Cuerden Valley Parkrun, Matt Holmes was first over the line in 18.47. PB’s were gained by Michael Oddie 21.44, David Park 22.30, Simon Worbey 24.23 and Neil Healy 26.54. At Preston there were PB’s for Joel Stanier (23.51) and Sarah Carr (30.23).

Mike Hall took part in the Yorkshireman Triathlon Half. Mike finished 6th place of 51 in his age group 50-54 in 5hrs 11mins 26secs. His impressive times were 40.01 for a 1900m swim, 2.45.11 for the 56mile bike and the Half Marathon run in 1:36:53.

The Colshaw Hall 10k race starts in the shadow of this beautiful, grade II listed building in the Cheshire Village of Over Peover. Chris Corrigan was our only runner and finished in 43.45.
