John Naylor returned to the scene of his famous victory last year in the Scorcher 10 in 10 marathon event. This year he was put under pressure by Belgian, Paul Van Heil who was also attempting to complete all 10 marathons. John beat his adversary in 7 out of the10 marathons and won the fourth event with a time of 4.11.26. With John well ahead on the morning of the 10th race, he had to battle with an injury for the final 14 miles giving the chance to Van Heil to narrow the gap but John’s gutsy performance ensured he stayed in credit by 1hour 24 minutes 46 seconds, to secure an amazing victory. On Day 6, Gary Corcoran won the marathon in 3.45.56 and on the final day Ben Smithers completed the 50K Ultra in 5.36.06.There were so many events over the course of the week with enthusiastic Red Rosers running and supporting each other. In several of the shorter distance races we had male and female winners.
