Starting and finishing at Jenkins Field, on the shores of Ullswater in Glenridding, the 5K Helvellyn Sport Trail, 10K Helvellyn Trail Run, 15K Helvellyn Trail Challenge and 15K Helvellyn Trail Race follow circuits along well marked and marshalled footpaths and bridleways that take you into the foothills of Helvellyn, with elevated panoramic views of Ullswater. In the 15k Trail Race Ian Croft was well placed in 1.18.23 followed very closely by Sarah Chippendale in 1.20.52. Rik Chippendale finished in 1.44.53. In the Challenge event ove 15k we had 20 runners. David Raynor 1.28.04, John Wiseman 1,34,37, Kathryn Abbott 1.37.05, Gail bristo 1.37.07, Margaret Lupton 1.37.24, Alicia Croft 1.40.30, Ben Smithers 1.42.48, Martin Simpson 1.43.57, Austin Trelfa 1.49.47, Helen Ormerod Pateman 1.57.34, Helen Greenhalgh 2.01.58, Claire Shaw 2.01.58, Wendy Ward 2.01.58, Mary Conway 2.05.24, Amanda Berry 2.05.24, Tracy Woods 2.19.26, Alison Dicks 2.25.14, Fiona Gutteridge 2.25.16, Josephine Walsh 2.26.41, Nina Colquhoun 2.37.06. The 10K Trail race saw David Bayliss finish in 53.08 followed by Lisa Bolton 55.23, Paul Fairclough 57.29, David Watson 1.16.26. The Sunday event was the Ullswater 10k and 14k. Olivia Wiggans ran brilliantly in the 10k race finishing in 8th place and as second female appeared on the podium with a time of 1.02.43.David Watson completed his busy weekend with a time of 1.50.18. There were two starts for the 14k Challenge with the early group consisting of David Raynor 1.31.00, Margaret Lupton 1.37.52, Gail Bristo 1.42.54, Austin Trelfa 1.53.25, Martin Simpson 2.29.12, Josephine Walsh 2.40.55, Tracy Woods 2.44.31. The later group included John Wiseman 1.49.34, Helen Ormerod Pateman 2.06.26. Claire Shaw 2.18.25, Wendy Ward 2.18.25, Helen Greenhalgh 2.18.26, Nina Colquhoun 2.30.35, Gina Biggs 2.59.15.In the 14k trail race Sophie Pilkington was in great form finishing in 1.14.53. Steve Murphy 1.45.28, Katrin Elbag 1.45.57, Natalie Barber 1.46.07.

The Bronte fell race is a point to point race over 12k starting in Wycollar finishing in Howarth. We had 5 runners competing.Frank Nightingale 1.13.45,(3rd V55) Philip Butler 1.13.51,(4th V55) Paula Plowman 1.47.12, Ben Donoghue 1.55.20, Julie Thorley 1.55.21.

The Age UK Leeds Abbey Dash had a huge turnout, emphasised by the fact that Simon Croft ran a new PB of 32.45 and came in 146th place! Natalie Croft also ran a PB improving by 40seconds finishing in 47.49.

At the Accrington 10k, the tough road race welcomed 11 Red Rosers. James Bretherton 43.37, Andrew Stell 44.26, David Stewart 50.19, Stuart Nicol 51.13, Simon Worbey 51.20, Paula Stell 53.11, Margaret Worbey 53.16, Anneke Crosby 53.16, David Barnes 61.17, Joydip Majumder 61.27, Emily Atkinson 66.58.

James Hughes represented the club at the Rugby Half Marathon finishing under 2 hours.

The Scouse 5k ensured a brilliant morning. It was definitely a fun run to do if you like wearing crazy, wigs and having a laugh whilst running. Taking part were Sam Edwards, Julie Longdon and Ste Pickering, PB of 24.51.

Colin Pickering was in Germany tackling the Frankfurt Marathon. He battled hard just failing to beat 5 hours but recorded his second fastest time, 5.05.21.

Parkrun PB’s were hard to come by on a very wet Saturday morning. At Preston Kate Clipston ran a new PB of 29.19 and Kelly Hobson 33.54.

Philip Davidson visited Wickstead Park, Kettering to record his 120th parkrun venue. His time was 24.15.

In the Preston Junior parkrun we had four finishers. Ethan Walker 12.13, Oliver Bruce 12.38, Tegan Bentley 14.35 and Bertie Burrows 15.13.

The Serpent 6 Mile Trail race took place in Bolton. Janine Needham was 3rd F40 in 47.54, followed by Chris Hall in 53.06, Steven Bellamy 61.42, Laura Walker 64.07, Tracey Alami 68.31, Hannah Clayton 70.45.

At the Fairclough 5 mile, Stuart Smith finished in 33.08. Ray Taylor was the first V65 in 36.59. Sandra Rolston ran 49.13 and Arthur Green 67.00.
