Last week John Naylor completed 5 Hell of a Hill marathons in five days and finally reached 100 marathons in about seven and a half years, around 80 in the last 3 years. 45 marathons were done with time2run events, including 24 ‘Scorchers’ and 17 Hell of a Hill races
Time2Run gave him a lovely cake and a special trophy commemorating the 100 marathons. This amazing achievement means he is the second Red Roser to join the ‘100 Marathon Club’ with Gina Biggs now on 168!
Those who travelled to North Wales enjoyed a great event. The Conwy Half may not have been the kindest, but the views and course, as well as the organisation and marshals, and Spikes support were superb. Even the massive 2 miles of hill was ok. Pity it was wet and cloudy towards the end but most would definitely do it again. The final club championship race was the Chorley Fire Station 10k starting and finishing in Euxton.43 club members took place and they were well represented in the prize winning positions. Simon Croft won the race in 32.54 followed in second place by Karl Hodgson in 34.41. Sophie Pilkington achieved a new PB of 41.31 to be second lady home, five seconds behind the winner. Other prize winners were Phil Marsden V45, 36.05, David Parkinson V50, (38.23), Steve Woodruffe V55 (40.03) Jay Rayton F40 (46.07) Jill Jefferson F60 (43.25) Joan Goldthorpe F65, (55.06) Carol Douglass F70, (52.06). A new event was the Blackburn 10k based around Ewood Park. A great run from Gary Corcoran of 38.49, gave him the V45 prize. Our other runners were John Barker 41.00, Scott Jackson 41.43, Phil Davidson 44.11, Liam Hooton 47.58, Dave Hooton 48.18, Chris Corrigan 54.23, Tracy Alami 60.27, David Hindle 61.33, Deborah Hall 65.12, Susan Heatley 70.15.
On Saturday, the Kendal Mountain Festival 10k was targeted by Lisa Bolton 64.44, Sue Tonge 73.46 and Alison Parkinson 73.45.
A great half marathon, Thirteen Arches, hosted by Radcliffe AC featured Ian Croft 1.42.28, Alicia Croft 2.01.53 and Richard Field 2.04.33. The Pendle Witches 10k was attended by Nikoletta Hudak finishing in 49.09.

Sarah Hanson claimed the furthest distance travelled for a parkrun for this weekend when she ran the Jersey event in 36 minutes. Personal bests were achieved at Cuerden valley by Barry Wheeler 20.57, Josie Swarbrick 28.48, and Oliver Bruce 35.47. At Preston Laura Renke ran 26.53, Damien Clapham 27.04 and Caroline Cocker 30.58. Lucas Park and Oliver Bruce did the Preston Junior parkrun.
