Well done to these 4 rosebuds at Avenham junior parkrun today- and a special shout out to Jack who earned his half marathon wristband for 11 parkruns. Tegan Bentley won her full marathon distance wristband. Abigail toured to Kew Woods on Saturday and completed the 5k parkrun there.

The main local run this weekend was the Park and Run 10k attracting over 200 runners. In 3rd place Karl Hodgson ran great time of 36.23. Windy and cold conditions made it unlikely that many runners would run a PB but there were some excellent performances. Our first three ladies took the team prize. Sam Edwards completed the Heaton Park Half Marathon. This is her second ‘half’ in her 12 in 12 month challenge. The four lap course was not to everyone’s taste but her time of1.43.09,and 3rd in her category was a satisfying result. Ben Smithers also ran with a time of 1.46.

The St Anne’s 10 miler can be a hard battle into a strong wind, often on the return journey. Our runners posted good times. David Brunton 66.42, Sophie Pilkington 69.48, Stuart Smith 69.56, Richard Barnes 75.27, Paula Plowman 85.55, Emily Atkinson 1.43.30, Lisa Walker 2.00.31.

Simon and Natalie Croft recently enjoyed the Celebration Half Marathon, Florida. Starting at 7.00am they were both finished by 9.00am ready for celebratory food and beer. Simon ran a brilliant 1.14.40 to take 3rd place and Natalie was well up her age category with a time of 1.50.19.

Our Parkrun tourists had a great morning out at Alexandra Park parkrun with fab cafe afterwards. Personal Bests at Preston were achieved by Kristian Lowe 18.18, Ethan Hodgkinson 20.6, Scott Jackson 20.31, Laura Renke 26.29.At Cuerden Valley, Gina Chelton ran 29.29.
