Scott Jackson took part in the Chester Ultra. Weather conditions forced organisers to revise the route due to another storm. In spite of this the course was still 44 miles. Scott was placed a well earned 30th.

Two brave U11 Boys took part at the Lancaster cross country. Archie Finch 8.16 was well placed in the top half of the field and Oliver Bruce 11.10.The ladies team finished in the order of Samantha Edwards 27.25,Melissa Houghton 32.00,Margaret Worbey35.02, Melanie Lowe36.01,Alison Mercer37.54, Hannah Clayton39.47.Josie Swarbrick 39.47, Annette Russ40.00, Andrea Davison43.14, Ann Donoghue43.14.The Men’s ‘A’team comprised of Dan Hughes 38.24,Stephen Woodruffe41.08, Frank Nightingale41.35, Stuart Smith41.48, Manolo Mendoza42.01, Barry Wheeler42.21. The ’B’ team comprised of Ethan Hodgkinson42.43, Michael Oddie 43.07,Simon Shaw43.28,Stuart Cann44.00,David Park 45.01,Philip Butler45.20. A good turn out was completed by our other runners:Matt Wilson45.47, Jon Royle47.40, Fred Lynch48.18, Ray Taylor48.20, Craig Goldsworthy48.27, Phil Dean48.30, Simon Worbey48.50, John Carruthers48.57, Dave Stewart50.40, Chris Hall53.05, Gareth Bell 54.08, David Barnes 63.03 , Ian Miller64.20, Michael Cleece65.28.

At the Accrington 10k Joydip Majumder finished in the testing hilly course in 64.53.
At the Trotters 5, conditions were a tad breezy. Janine Needham (37:14)finished in first place in her F45 age group.Times for our other runners were Pete Smith 39:55, John Wiseman 42:46, Austin Trelfa 43:40, Helen Yvonne Ormerod 48:06, Debbie Porter 48:57, Barbara Bath 49:39.
In a high quality field the Trafford 10k Gary Corcoran finished in 39.27, and Alan Jolly 40.58.
 Jon and Finty Royle ran the Ilkley Moor Fell Race.

Two Red Rose took part in the Warwick half marathon, running for the Barrie Wells Trust. It was a lovely sunny day, starting off with no wind but the second half proving very blustery on an always undulating course. Baz Bayliss finishing with a chip time of 1:46:22, and James Butler in a time of 1:55:32

With Cuerden Valley unfit for the parkrun event, Preston parkrun saw more than 50 Red Rose Runners taking part. PB’s were posted by Karl Hodgson 16.59,Steve Willetts 19.58 and Neil Healy 24.53.

Jack Cleece did his first 5k at Tawd Valley- a great welcome from the volunteers and the rain stayed away! Also Isabelle’s first, but sadly she’s too young for a barcode. First time at this course for Louise Withnell, Abigail Cleece , Hannah Withnell and Katy Cleece . 1st time for all of them on a leap year.

Well done to this week’s rosebuds who took part in Worden Park junior parkrun, 1st timers Lucie Clipston and Daniel Johnson; PBs for Oliver Bruce (also claiming milestone half marathon), Abigail Cleece, Abbie
Parker, Jenna Haslam; and returners Eva and Joe Atkinson, Jack Cleece, Chloe Smith, Daniel Hands.
