Scott Jackson took part in the Chester Ultra. Weather conditions forced organisers to revise the route due to another storm. In spite of this the course was still 44 miles. Scott was placed a well earned 30th.
Two brave U11 Boys took part at the Lancaster cross country. At the Accrington 10k Joydip Majumder finished in the testing hilly course in 64.53.
At the Trotters 5, conditions were a tad breezy. Janine Needham (37:14)finished in first place in her F45 age group.Times for our other runners were Pete Smith 39:55, John Wiseman 42:46, Austin Trelfa 43:40, Helen Yvonne Ormerod 48:06, Debbie Porter 48:57, Barbara Bath 49:39.
In a high quality field the Trafford 10k Gary Corcoran finished in 39.27, and Alan Jolly 40.58.
Jon and Finty Royle ran the Ilkley Moor Fell Race.
Two Red Rose took part in the Warwick half marathon, running for the Barrie Wells Trust. It was a lovely sunny day, starting off with no wind but the second half proving very blustery on an always undulating course. Baz Bayliss finishing with a chip time of 1:46:22, and James Butler in a time of 1:55:32
With Cuerden Valley unfit for the parkrun event, Preston parkrun saw more than 50 Red Rose Runners taking part. PB’s were posted by Karl Hodgson 16.59,Steve Willetts 19.58 and Neil Healy 24.53.
Jack Cleece did his first 5k at Tawd Valley- a great welcome from the volunteers and the rain stayed away! Also Isabelle’s first, but sadly she’s too young for a barcode. First time at this course for Louise Withnell, Abigail Cleece , Hannah Withnell and Katy Cleece . 1st time for all of them on a leap year.
