Every year Red Rose Road Runners take part in a series of four fell races (two mid-week and two on a weekend held during the summer) with six other clubs from the Fylde and Preston areas. This is known as the Inter Club Grand Prix Fell Series. The other participating clubs are:

- Lytham St. Annes RR
- Preston Harriers
- Thornton Cleveleys RC
- Wesham RR
The Inter Club Grand Prix Road Series and Inter Club Grand Prix Fell Series have a significant difference: namely that the Inter Club Grand Prix Road Series is held on closed organized races, while the Inter Club Grand Prix Fell Series is held as part of pre-existing open races organized by outside authorities and are run under the FRA rules. These races are not free you must pay your own entry fee and only first claim members can count in teams. Club kit must be worn (you are reminded that all members are required to wear a club vest, short or long sleeve top in all competitions).
You may also be required to carry additional kit and protective clothing during these races (see Kit for the Fells for details). Organisers may disqualify runners with inadequate kit.
You are responsible for your own safety on the fells and must obey any additional rules and procedures drawn up by the race organisers.
There are five team categories, as well as overall individual awards in Male & Female and Vet 40, 50, 60 age groups. No Female Vet 35 in fell running, both Male & Female Vet categories start 40.

1st team 7 points, 2nd team 6 points… 7th team 1 point. The results will be posted on the Interclub Website.
Lowest total positions at 3 of the 4 races win individual trophies overall and in each age group. Prizes go to first two in the open men’s, two in open women’s and 1st in the veteran categories.
These are awarded at the buffet following the first event of the following season of the Inter Club Grand Prix Road Series Race.
Registration at Barley Village Hall Nr Burnley GR 822402 (BB12 9JU). Car parking available in the village car park with overflow along the road. Please park with respect to residents and car share if possible.
Please note the FRA Safety Rules. Ensure that you have read the FRA requirements for Runners 2018. Race numbers must be visible at all times and must only be worn on the chest. If after collecting your number you decide not to run, or retire during the race, you must inform registration in the village hall.
You will need to bring with you full FRA Mandatory Minimum Kit and a recommendation will be given on the day taking into account the weather conditions.
Results will be published on ukresults.net.
Prizes will be Pete Bland vouchers for Ladies and Men in senior and veteran categories. No team prizes.
As usual the village hall will have tea / coffee / cake available to purchase and Pete Bland Sports will have the van in Barley Car Park for any last minute essentials.

A tough 7.5 mile course with 1400 ft of ascent.
Kit required for all races, waterproof jacket, leggings, map, compass, whistle. Kit check before registration – no kit, no registration, no number no run. Strictly no dogs on course at any time. No access to farmland until race day. One prize per person.
