Each year the club is allocated a number of entries to the London Marathon

First consideration will be given to club members who have not done the London Marathon within the last five years, who have entered through the normal procedure that year and have been rejected.

Second consideration will be given to club members who have entered through the normal procedure that year and have been rejected.

In both the above criteria, rejection notices must be produced with the entry request.

Thirdly, consideration will be given to club members who do not fall into the two above categories who express a wish to receive a club entry.

Furthermore, in order to qualify under the above regulations, an applicant must have served twelve months membership with the Club by the 31st of March in the calendar year prior to the London Marathon. They must also have completed nine races from any of the Red Rose Club events prior to the draw taking place in order to be considered. Events hosted by Red Rose will not count towards the total, however marshalling/volunteering at a Red Rose hosted event can count as one of the 9 ‘races’ (e.g. complete 8 calendar races, plus marshal at the Red Rose Interclub, or Worden 10K). If a member completes the same event multiple times, it will only count as one race.

If all the above criteria are met, and more people are eligible than available places, the chosen runners will be randomly selected.

Any other matters which arise under the above will be dealt with at the absolute discretion of the Committee.

Amended August 2023 (to include the marshalling / volunteering option).
