Cross Country

From October to March, Red Rose Road Runners compete in the Mid Lancs Cross Country League against numerous clubs from across Lancashire. The competition is split into several leagues which clubs complete for promotion and avoid relegation. Individual honours are also up for grabs.

The races are held on a Saturday, are free for members to enter (Red Rose pays your entry fee), and are normally organised by competing clubs. Before running you will need to register, whilst this can be done on the day you are advised to avoid the last-minute rush and respond to the communication giving details of registration. This will be sent out to members before the start of the season.

Once registered, your number is valid for the rest of the season except for Liverpool where you will be given a different race number. Keep your number safe and bring it to the races as duplicates require lots of extra admin and bother for the club captains at a busy time.

A club kit must be worn for these races. You are reminded that all members are required to wear a club vest in all competitions. In the past, some of the XC marshalls have interpreted ‘vest’ as meaning a sleeveless vest but have been relaxed about people wearing a sleeveless vest over a long sleeve vest of a different colour.
